This month, Cooley Springs-Fingerville Elementary hosted our first annual Books & Biscuits event, creating a special opportunity to bring families into our school while promoting literacy and a love of reading. Families were invited to enjoy a Chick-fil-A breakfast together before visiting our school Book Fair.

The event gave parents and caregivers an opportunity to spend meaningful time with their children at school, connect with our school community, and encourage students as they selected books to enjoy at home. Books & Biscuits was a wonderful example of our continued commitment to strengthening the partnership between school, home, and community.

We were thrilled with the participation from our families and loved seeing the excitement our students had about sharing both breakfast and books with those they love. Following the success of our inaugural event, we look forward to making Books & Biscuits an annual tradition at CSF as we continue finding meaningful ways to engage our families and build a strong culture of literacy.
